Empowering Team Members Through Professional Development at PSL

Presbyterian Senior Living  |  Presbyterian Senior Living | Corporate

At PSL we believe that investing in our team members’ professional growth is essential to providing the highest level of care and service to our residents. To support our team members in achieving their career goals, we offer a variety of professional development opportunities through education partnerships with esteemed universities and business organizations. These programs provide team members with the tools and knowledge needed to advance their careers, enhance their skill sets, and contribute meaningfully to the senior living industry.

Education Partnerships for Career Advancement

PSL has established partnerships with several reputable institutions to provide flexible and accessible educational opportunities for team members. These partnerships allow employees to further their education while balancing work and personal commitments. Whether pursuing a degree in nursing, business, or strategic health service management, PSL team members have access to diverse programs tailored to their career aspirations.

Advancing in Healthcare and Nursing

PSL offers multiple pathways to success for team members pursuing a career in healthcare and nursing.

Career Progression for Clinical Team Members

PSL is committed to helping clinical team members, including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), progress in their careers. Many of our dedicated caregivers aspire to become Registered Nurses (RNs) or advance further with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) to pursue leadership roles. Through our educational partnerships, team members can advance their clinical careers.

  • LPNs and CNAs: Team members currently working as LPNs can enroll in RN bridge programs, such as the RN to BSN programs offered by Harrisburg University and York College. These programs provide a flexible and structured pathway to becoming a registered nurse. CNAs looking to transition into nursing can pursue prerequisite coursework and enter RN programs, gaining the necessary education and hands-on experience required to advance in the field.

  • RN Master of Science in Nursing (MSN): For RNs who wish to take on leadership, educator, or advanced clinical roles, our partnerships with Harrisburg University and York College offer MSN programs that prepare nurses for specialized healthcare positions.

By providing these structured career pathways, PSL empowers clinical team members to advance their education, enhance their professional expertise, and take on leadership roles in senior care.

Healthcare Management

For those interested in healthcare management, PSL partners with Delaware Valley University which offers a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Health Service Management, helping professionals gain expertise in strategic planning, operations management, and healthcare policy. Messiah University’s healthcare programs also support team members looking to enhance their skills in the senior living sector.

Business and Leadership Education

For team members looking to grow in business and leadership, PSL’s partnerships with Eastern University and Messiah University provide a wide range of degree programs. Eastern University offers undergraduate and graduate options, including Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science (MS), and Master of Education (MEd). These programs are designed to develop leadership and managerial skills applicable across industries, including senior care.

Messiah University’s business programs further support employees by providing knowledge in finance, operations, and strategic planning, ensuring they are well-equipped to take on leadership roles within PSL and beyond.

Information Technology and Specialized Training

Recognizing the growing role of technology in healthcare, PSL partners with Harrisburg University to offer IT training and certification programs through the NUPATHS initiative. These programs provide team members with the technical skills necessary to support healthcare technology and innovation.

Additionally, Harrisburg University offers continued education programs, including bachelor’s and master’s degrees as well as certificate programs, allowing team members to expand their expertise in various disciplines and remain competitive in their respective fields.

Commitment to Lifelong Learning

At PSL, we recognize that lifelong learning is a vital component of personal and professional growth. By partnering with these educational institutions, we provide our team members with the support they need to succeed in their careers while continuing to deliver exceptional care to our residents. Whether seeking to enhance leadership abilities, gain specialized certifications, or pursue advanced degrees, PSL’s professional development programs are designed to help every team member achieve their goals.

We encourage all PSL team members to explore these opportunities and take the next step in their professional journey. By investing in our workforce, PSL continues to build a community dedicated to excellence, innovation, and compassionate service in senior living.
