PSL’s Housing Management Corporation (HMC) teams joined together for a holiday event to celebrate the year’s accomplishments. This year nearly 60 team members gathered for “Santa’s Workshop,” festivities and annual awards.
Our Affordable Senior Housing communities offer older adults quality apartment and cottage living in a professionally managed rental community. On-site Resident Service Coordinators are available to help residents with applications for food assistance, prescription assistance and other entitlement applications as well as providing planning support for community and social activities.
The celebratory day began with laughter and frivolity during a host of team-building activities including Christmas Jeopardy, Gift Wrapping challenges (have you ever wrapped a bow with your hands tied together?) and a holiday attire contest. A festive lunch allowed time for conversation and sharing among team members. All were thankful that Santa (aka PSL CEO Dan Davis) was able to attend the festivities!
Additionally, to celebrate the giving aspects of the holidays, team members collected donations of art supplies and pet food. All donations will be distributed among various communities and to residents and their pets.
Recognizing our Team
A highlight of the event is always the presentation of Appreciation Gifts, Years of Service Awards and Buzzworthy Awards.
Team members were recognized for one, three, five and tenth anniversary milestones. In addition, Tim Bumbaugh was recognized for 45 years of service.
The Buzzworthy Awards are open to team members from all 22 communities. They are given to one Community Manager, one Resident Services Coordinator and one Maintenance/Cleaning Specialist who deserve recognition for always being willing to go above and beyond. To receive a Buzzworthy award, team members are nominated by co-workers. Parameters include persons who:
- Are noted for providing encouragement and praise to others
- Consistently contribute to the greater good
- Live the PSL Mission
- Think creatively to come up with solutions to barriers
- Are compassionate and kind
- Focus on the task, the team and the residents of HMC
This year’s recipients were Pam Bowman, Senior Community Manager, Shrewsbury Courtyard and Shrewsbury Courtyard II; Charlene Fragale, Resident Services Coordinator, Westminster Place at Ware Presbyterian Village / Senior Housing and Breni Resto, Cleaning Specialist, Springwood Overlook and Westminster Place Queen Street.
Congratulations to these recipients and to those who were nominated!
A giant Thank You! to the team member committee who planned every step of the special day!
