Each new year many of us make New Year's resolutions or make goals for the New Year. Some are focused on health and nutrition. Some are more specific, like saving more for my future, going back to school, starting my own business.

December is the month in which many celebrate Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ. There are several other holidays celebrated in December outside of Christmas. This month we would like to highlight just a few of those holidays and share with you their origin. You may already be familiar with these holidays and enjoy celebrating them with family and friends.

National Hispanic Heritage Month honors the culture, heritage, and contributions of Hispanic Americans each year. The event began in 1968 when Congress deemed the week including September 15 and 16 National Hispanic Heritage Week to celebrate the contributions and achievements of the diverse cultures within the Hispanic community.

International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is celebrated annually on August 9. As we recognize this date, we are sharing the foundation for this recognition and highlighting the contributions of Indigenous Peoples to the world. Our goal in each of our blogs is to expand knowledge and celebrate the diversity that has made us who we are as a nation.
